A snake and a swan meet in a bar.
Their laugh so shared between them chimes.
One slides forward and one beats back
in curious sympathetic movement dance.
Somewhere, a clock ticks its time,
and the sun between them makes to rise,
and knowing there is nothing spare,
the two part hurried, chaste and jest.
A glimmer skant off gilden scale,
a feather born departed tail,
a kiss of wind as dawn defines
what lies between the earth and sky.
